Cinema

Welcome to my very own kino-blog; enjoy. I love cinema, but to reduce the whole thing into a typical binomial is but an exercise in foolishness; sp here I'll be sharing my opinion on movies.
And still, I am not an expert. Take what I say (as always) with a pinch of salt.

Movies:

A Better Tomorrow I (1986) John Woo.

The movie is far from perfect. I watched the italian bersion and dubbing is ok, the story isn't either perfect but you know you are here for the action and violence right? It is a perfect 80's action movie with everything you'll ever need if what you were looking for was a 80's action movie. What's funny about it? They even made a sequel, and a remake in 2018. Leave a like for Mack and his twin brother.

C'e ancora domani (2023) Paola Cortellesi.

"C'e ancora domani" (There's still tomorrow) is a beautifull movie by Paola Cortellesi. It embodies the neo-realism style of classical italian cinema with modern comical element and satire.
The director creates the perfect setting for the story managing to speak outloud about unspeakable things, leaving the audience with a weird smile on their face during every scene.

Il sol dell'avvenire (2023) Nanni Moretti.

Cinema can and must create new realities, this is what Nanni Moretti wants to do in his movie about a movie director, a love story and a circus.

La casa dalle finestre che ridono (1976) Pupi Avati.

Classic italian horror/thriller about a crazy painter and a small village in Emilia Romagna. There is not much to say about it.

Pamfir (2022) Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk.

This movie wants to expose the arsh reality of people living in the countryside of Ukraine. Smuggling, killing, corruption, religion and folklore are part of everyone's lives. This modern depiction of the orthodox Easter brings a glimps of hope into the dark muddy background of the story.

Saltburn (2023) Emerald Fennel.

I have no idea of what this movie is about but I loved every second of it. Colours, musics and actors are perfectly blended in this crazy two hours masquerade of luxury, lust and love.

The deer hunter (1978) Michael Cimino.

I must be honest with you: I didn't like this movie. Maybe my expectancies where different than what I witnessed. Maybe it is stating the obvious or maybe I am not emotionally sensible enought. One thing that I really liked tho is when the "drafted" is playing bingo and the caller drafts the number "18".
